Know What to Expect Before Your Visit
We accept both vision insurance and medical insurance, and we help you determine which one applies before you arrive. If you're unsure about your benefits, we’ll review your plan and guide you through what’s covered, what’s not, and what options are available to you.
What Vision Insurance Typically Covers
Vision insurance supports routine eye care. These plans are designed to help with:
- One comprehensive eye exam per year
- An eyeglass frame allowance (may vary by plan)
- Basic prescription lenses (single vision or bifocal)
- Optional lens upgrades, such as:
- Progressive lenses (e.g., Varilux)
- High-index lenses
- Blue light protection
- Anti-reflective coatings
- A contact lens benefit in place of glasses, which may include a set amount toward lenses and/or fitting fees
If your appointment is for a routine eye exam, prescription update, or new eyewear selection, vision insurance typically applies.
What Vision Insurance Doesn’t Cover
Medical Eye Conditions
Vision insurance doesn’t cover medical evaluations. If you're experiencing dry eye, diabetic eye changes, or need care for glaucoma, cataracts, or macular degeneration, your medical insurance typically applies.
Sudden or Symptomatic Visits
If you visit us for eye infections, allergies, or sudden changes in vision, those issues fall outside the scope of routine care and are billed to your medical provider.
Coordinate Vision and Medical Coverage
Not sure which plan applies? Our team will review your reason for visiting and handle insurance coordination for you, so you don’t have to guess or juggle coverage alone.
